This summer, we’re hosting guided reading group discussions based on foundational texts that have shaped how people think about freedom, markets, and the role of government.
This week you’ll read a selection by Frédéric Bastiat beforehand, and then join a conversation guided by Paul Meany, intellectual history editor for Libertarianism.org. Paul will offer a brief framing of the text before opening it up for a discussion driven by your questions.

Thomas A. Berry, director of the Robert A. Levy Center for Constitutional Studies, will be our guest for this second session. He will connect the lessons from Bastiat to current policy debates regarding the Ninth and Tenth Amendments, which aim to safeguard fundamental rights from government overreach.
